Day 5

No writing last night; I think my muse has been sick. So instead I read three plays by Jonathan Tolins: The Last Sunday in June, If Memory Serves, and Twilight of the Golds.

More about them later.

You read three plays in one night? Wow. You must be a fast reader.

Yes, I am. The best thing about it was being able to zip through my reading assignments in college and go out drinking. The bad thing about it is having to take five or six books with me when I travel so I don't run out of things to read. Another bad thing is the size of my credit card bills when I go on a book buying binge.

I saw The Last Sunday in June when it was at the Century Center. I really liked it, it was a challenging piece for what it was. If that makes any sense.

David: I know what you mean. The idea of writing a play that uses all the conventional 'gay play' devices, but turns them upside down. Very interesting. I would have loved to see the audience's reaction.
