Maybe the K stands for Konvert?

Headlines you won't see:

Christian Serial Killer Arrested

Boy Scout Leader Was Serial Killer

Heterosexual Arrested in BTK Murders

But you know if he'd been gay, every headline would have mentioned it and anti-gay mullahs everywhere ("Rev." James Dobson, Fred Phelps, etc.) would have been on it like flies on shit.

Anyway, it won't matter in the grand scheme of things, but I sent a letter to the Boy Scouts today suggesting that it might be time to put as much effort into keeping serial killers out of scouting as they've put into keeping gays out.

Think I should hold my breath until I get a response?

Actually, I think there should be more serial killers in the Scouts. Lots, lots more. And in churches too. Is that bad of me? Oh well, I guess I'll lose about five minutes of sleep over that....

I think all police blotters should list the sexual orientation and marital status of the offender.

You should regularly rename news stories.

"Straight Stepson Is Accused of Killing Hetero, Married, and Retired Officer With Samurai Sword" (via nytimes)

Doesn't that just roll off your tongue?

And doesn't the Boy Scouts teach little boys how to use a knife, hack at branches, shoot arrows, start a fire, and basket weave all in the woods?

If that's doesn't sound like a training ground for serial killers, I don't know what does.

I must tell you that there really was a headline on the main AOL page (yeah, we all know I still use AOL) that said, almost verbatim, "Boy Scout Leader Was Serial Killer." I got all excited and thought it might have been one of my old leaders. (Yes, I'm a gay Eagle Scout. As for the other, well, how many murders do you have to commit to be a serial killer? Three? Twelve? I'll work on it.)
