Yea me!

Okay, I don't want to turn this into a weight loss blog, but I figure if I mention it from time to time, I'll have more incentive to keep up the good work.

As of today, I'm down 17 lbs. Slowly but surely.

Anyway, next week I start my weight-lifting routine, which will make me thinner, but will probably slow down the actual weight loss. I'm not going to worry about it.

I've made a few deals with myself about what I'm going to do once I hit my goal weight. First, I'm going to buy some nicer clothes. Like stylish, get-laid-when-you-go-to-the-bar, designer clothes. I'm tired of looking schlumpy.

And I'm getting a tattoo. I'm thinking of a double ouroborus (two entwined snakes in a circle, each one with the other's tail in its mouth). And maybe a second one which would be a celtic cross, if I don't cry like a little girl when I'm getting my first one. (Speaking of which, do any of you remember the episode of "Bosom Buddies" where Tom Hanks decides to get a tattoo to impress the girl that he likes? If you do, his reaction when the needle touches his skin (about 2:27 in the video clip) is what I fear my reaction will be.)

Anyway, that's majorly putting the cart before the horse. But it's fun to have a goal in mind.

They should have a Bosom Buddies reunion movie.

I got my first tattoo a couple months ago. (A carbon atom, yes I'm a geek) They don't hurt that bad. While everyone will tell you to find a clean, reputable place, don't forget to also find a clean, reputable place with a cutie tattoo artist. It helps to have something nice to look at while you're getting a needle shoved under your skin. :)

Ok people who tell you they don't hurt at all are full of poo. They do. But your body starts to ignore the pain after a bit and you don't notice it as much. Still, they're SO worth it. Congrats on the weight loss.

Oh please, mine hurt like a sonofabitch. My eyesight greyed out while he was doing the circle (yes, it's a yin/yang--sue me for not being original) which he wanted to complete in a single motion. Yeah, that so did not happen.

Once that part was done, though, actually it was not that bad. I still contemplate getting a second one, but I don't know what or where.

Kudos! Yes, the weight lifting will not necessarily change what the scale says, but will definitely change what the mirror says. Good for you!

I'm surprised you're not getting the Star Trek chevron as a tattoo.

This means that next time you come and visit, you're going to be even more of a hottie than you were last time!

Also, you've been tagged. :)

Also, one of my colleagues said that when she got her tattoo done the guy doing it always lifted away the needle when she felt that the pain was getting too much to bear but before she said anything.
