I bought Fujis, Galas and Mackintoshes. I love Galas, had never tried Fujis or Mackintoshes (as far as I can remember).
I loved the Fujis, clearly, but the Macs were a disappointment. I was hoping they'd be crisp and crunchy (my preference in apples). They were flavorful, but while the skin was thick, giving them the illusion of crunch, the flesh was a little too soft. Probably good for apple sauce.

Such a detailed entry! But I can relate to the comment. After all, I used to use their film. Great stuff! :)
Those are so yummy! I was eating some Fuji apple slices at work once, and my co-worker swore he heard me moaning.
Fujis are good, but they're the back-up when Galas aren't available at the farmers market.
Qhile I like Fujis, my main choice is Mackintosh which, unfortunately, are nearly impossible to get out here.
